The Sedgebrook full-service Retirement Community located in Lincolnshire, IL, recently expanded with the assistance of a $137 million bond financing through IFA. This expansion, which created 1900 new jobs, provided senior living facilities for up to 2000 residents.

Rupari Food Services, Inc., a major wholesale supplier of processed ribs to the foodservice industry, is expanding its operation with a new 60,000 square foot production and cold storage facility and a 10,000 square foot expansion/renovation of Rupari's ready-to-eat production area. This project is supported by the issuance of $10 million in tax-exempt industrial revenue bonds by the Illinois Finance Authority. The expansion is expected to create over 170 jobs.

IFA supported the development of Firefly Energy's innovative battery technology with $975,000 in equity using a Technology Development Bridge. IFA was one of the early investors in Firefly Energy, Inc., a spin-off company from Caterpillar. IFA congratulates Firefly Energy, Inc. for winning a prestigious 2007 Wall Street Journal "Technology Innovation Award."

The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System is the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation of office, manufacturing, and other types of green buildings. IFA Funding Managers are working with universities to assist with project financings for the development of Green Buildings. We recently financed projects for McKinley Foundation at the University of Illinois, Elmhurst College, and Loyola Academy.

Urban Innovations recently celebrated the completion of a renovation project at Van Buren Place in Chicago. This project involved the acquisition and rehabilitation of a 124-unit apartment building for low-income seniors. The project was funded by $8 million in tax-exempt bonds issued by the Illinois Finance Authority as well as funds from the sale of low-income housing tax-credits.
